“We the People: The Nebraska Viewpoint” was an interactive educational traveling exhibit designed for the Nebraska State Historical Society. The 5,000 square foot exhibit used videos, pictures, artifacts and text to explore the struggles for constitutional rights and privileges which played out in Nebraska as a struggle between inclusion and exclusion. The broad-ranging exhibit demonstrates how using the U.S. Constitution and defining who ‘we’ are has collided at every intersection of society, including politics, religion, education and the press. It also includes the struggle for rights by women, Natives, African-Americans, the condemned, laborers and hate groups like the KKK.
